THE FLANAGAN COLLECTIVE PRESENT A ROMPING, STOMPING
NEW FOLK SHOW - BABYLON
From the company behind the critically acclaimed Beulah and Some Small Love Story comes a new folk musical about kings, queens and revolutions.
The Flanagan Collective like stories and instruments and spending time with people. So they’ve made a new show, BABYLON, which is about all of that. It’s a story about kings and queens and revolutions, but it’s also a story about the things we should love and care for and keep special and safe. It’s a traditional folk tale for a future imagined. It’s about what could wrong if we stick on a selfish, greedy path. It’s a big story about politics and people. But it’s told with food and drinks and instruments and singing and dancing. The Flanagan Collective are heading out on a months tour across Britain, from the banks of inner city rivers to the rural reaches of Somerset. But it’s not a tour filled with glitzy theatres and swanky studios – it’s a tour visiting pubs, halls, farms and more pubs. It’s a tour aiming for knees-ups and shin-digs, not a quiet G&T in the interval. The company of four are as easily a band as they are actors – switching between harps, fiddles, trumpets, mandolins, harmoniums, bazoukis, drums, accordions, guitars, whistles and cajons – to provide a heel stomping live folk soundtrack to the night.

Chapel St. Studios is an events company supporting theatre, cinema, music and art in
Manchester and Salford.
After our ten months at the lovely Black Lion's theatre in Salford, we're currently looking for a new permanent space in Manchester to keep supporting exciting, risk-taking and innovative events!
Until then, we're still promoting and programming everything we can, at the venues we love - and getting ready for Chapel St. Folk Festival 2014!
We're always looking for new people to work with theatre companies / bands / artists looking for a stage give us a shout :)
